Badger & Co | 32 Castle Street, Edinburgh | Signature Group

There's something pretty special about Badger & Co. Tucked away on Castle Street in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town,

we're a restaurant full of character, brilliant Scottish food and the sort of warmth that makes guests want to stay for one

more drink.

We're looking for lovely people to join our established floor team. People who genuinely enjoy looking after others, want

to learn about what they're serving and take pride in creating experiences that guests remember.

At Badger, we're big believers in making a good thing even better. We're proud of the restaurant and the established

team we've built, but we're always learning. If you love hospitality and want to bring your own ideas and personality to a

place with real charm and ambition, we'd love to meet you.

Great food. Warm people. All the charm of Badger.

A LITTLE ABOUT BADGER

Our building was once home to Kenneth Grahame, author of The Wind in the Willows, and that story still gives Badger

its wonderful charm. But we're much more than a themed restaurant. At the heart of what we do is a genuine love of

Scottish food, great drinks and making people feel properly looked after.

Our menus celebrate Scotland's larder, with provenance, quality and seasonality at the centre. Think familiar Scottish

and British dishes reimagined with care, beautifully prepared plates, seasonal produce and plenty of good things to

share.

We look after all sorts of occasions: a relaxed lunch, a special dinner, Sunday roast with the family, drinks in the sunken

garden or a celebration in our private dining room, Toad Hall. We want the service to feel comfortable and natural

wherever our guests choose to settle in.

We're a restaurant with a story to tell, but it's our people who make it feel special.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You'll be part of a team that really cares about getting the details right, without making hospitality feel formal or stuffy.

• Giving guests a genuinely warm welcome, whether they are regulars or visiting us for the first time.

• Taking food and drinks orders with confidence, care and a good understanding of what we offer.

• Learning our menu, our Scottish suppliers and the little stories that make a recommendation feel personal.

• Looking after your tables, keeping an eye on timings and noticing what guests need before they need to ask.

• Helping deliver smooth lunches, busy dinners, Sunday roasts and private dining experiences.

• Preparing your section properly, from table settings and reservations to the small details that make service flow.

• Working closely with the kitchen, bar and wider floor team, especially when things get busy.

• Keeping the restaurant clean, organised and welcoming, and handling payments accurately.

THE ART OF SETTING UP FOR SUCCESS

At Badger, we're big believers in the art of setting up for success. The best service starts long before our first guest

arrives. Knowing your menu, checking your tables, preparing your section and talking to your teammates isn't the

boring bit before service. It's what gives us the freedom to relax and properly look after our guests when the restaurant

fills up.

We're big believers in being ready for the shift ahead. A beautifully set restaurant, clear communication and a well-

prepared team make all the difference. We want people who take pride in that work and understand how much easier

great hospitality feels when everyone is set up to succeed.

Put the work into the preparation. Enjoy the service. Make it look effortless.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

At Badger, we're big believers in the right attitude and genuine care for people. Experience in a restaurant is great, but

personality matters just as much. You can teach someone a menu, a till system or how to carry three plates. It's much

harder to teach someone to genuinely care about making another person's day better.

• You love meeting people and making them feel welcome.

• You have a positive attitude and enjoy being part of a team.

• You take pride in the small details and understand the importance of being prepared.

• You can keep calm, organised and friendly through a busy service.

• You are interested in food, drinks and Scottish provenance, and keen to learn more.

• You are happy to get stuck in, support your teammates and bring ideas to the table.

You don't need to know everything on day one. If you care, you're curious and you're keen to develop, we'll help you

with the rest.

WHY JOIN BADGER?

You'll be joining an established restaurant and a team with experience to share, while still having the opportunity to bring your own personality and ideas to what we do next.

At Badger, we're big believers in hospitality as a career, not just a job. We want people to understand the restaurant

they're part of, feel confident in their work and have a chance to grow. Whether you're looking for a part-time role or

you're keen to build a long-term career, there's plenty to learn from an established team.

We're big believers in proper training, sharing knowledge, a team that looks after one another and managers who lead

by example. It means learning about the food and drinks rather than just memorising orders, and having the confidence

to make every guest feel welcome.

THE BENEFITS

Alongside your pay, you'll have access to Signature Group benefits, including:

• 25%–50% staff discount on food and drinks across Signature Group venues.

• Access to our 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.

• Additional annual leave based on length of service.

• Training, development and career progression opportunities.

• The opportunity to be part of a restaurant team with real character and ambition.

you.
